LOOK: Marvin Agustin And His Modern-Looking Bungalow House In Quezon City.

Actor and businessman Marvin Agustin shared his 70s Bungalow house in White Plains, Quezon City. The house design was outdated so the actor decided to renovate the place. With the help of architect Cathy Saldaña, who co-designed Marvin’s restaurants, the house was given a new life.

The house underwent two renovations jobs. The house features wonderful paintings, live plants, and furniture that compliments the retro feel of the house. The interior design of the bungalow house is magnificent but wait until you see the backyard pool. Installed with a Color-Logic Pool LED lighting system that changes into five different colors, this place is breathtaking at night time.

Let’s take a tour and I hope you can get house design ideas as we feature Marvin’s humble abode.

The living area is very minimalist and features some furniture designs from Djer Paras and Budji Layug. The walls are painted in bluish-gray color and a huge painting hangs on the wall. The room set-up was inspired by a hotel in Paris. The dining area is just beside Marvin’s living room.

The house has a den in beige and brown color. A three-seater couch, armchair, and a painting of a vintage Volkswagen Beetle is present in this small room.

The dining area is a mixture of classic and modern design. The dining table is from Komodo, the leather-wrapped chairs, tall plant, and the drum pendant lamp, are from Kenneth Cobonpue.

The hallway is adorned with wonderful artworks and furniture.

The bedroom interiors are modern looking resembling a hotel suite. The room has a glass sliding door showing the view of the backyard and the outdoor pool.

“Modern, for sure. May pagka-Italian ’yong style. It’s going to be a two-story house,” he said.

“Masarap kasi na ’yong mga pieces na nasa bahay mo…through the years, naipon mo. Hindi ’yong parang ’binagsak ng designer o minadali para matapos. So, dahan-dahan. Konti-konti,” the actor answered when he was asked to describe his dream house.

Look: Filipina OFW Worked Really Hard For 12 Years And Gave Her Mother A Big Present.

Do you have a family member or relative working abroad? Do they tell you nice things or the opposite? Every Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) has his own story to tell. Life abroad is not like a stroll in the park, it’s never simple, it’s full of challenges, struggles, and setbacks. Many OFWs are unfortunate to have abusive employers, as seen on the news and different social media networks. Many are also lucky enough to have found good and kind bosses.

Joena Ordinario is an OFW with an inspiring story to share. She worked as a domestic helper abroad for 12 long years and proudly shared a video of her newly renovated house.

This new house is Joena’s gift to her mother. She worked really hard abroad and saved seriously so she can give her mother the best present ever. A dream come true, a wish granted for Joena and her family.

She showed their old house, although it was already concrete, it was too small for her family and the walls are left unpainted. Now their new house is bigger and spacious. The exterior walls are painted in white with an orange accent. The glass windows made the house look modern and it’s also a good choice for it gives natural lighting – a good electricity saver. The kitchen and kitchen fixtures are also expensive, only for her mother.

Although the construction of their new house was postponed for a year, now it’s all finished. Her sacrifices for working abroad were paid off after seeing the beautiful house she built for her mother. Joena inspired many people through her determination and hard work.

Working abroad, away from people you love, can start to take a toll on your emotional and mental health. You have to be strong in all aspects and having an inspiration can help you survive the difficult life overseas. Just like Joena, her dream and her inspiration helped her survive her life away from home.

Young Mangyan Boy Made Toy Vehicles Out Of Old Rubber Slippers.

Indigenous PH, a non-profit organization shared another inspiring story on Facebook. The organization aims to promote and preserve the culture of different tribes in the country. They have posted an inspiring story on their official FB page about a 13-year-old Manyan boy who likes making toy vehicles out of discarded rubber slippers.

Jupel Batobato, a young boy from an indigenous tribe called “Mangyan” and lives in the mountains of Mindoro, a small community with no electricity. Mangyan is an ethnic group from Mindoro Island and some of the tribes can be found in Romblon, Albay, Negros, and Palawan. The term Mangyan refers to a person without any reference to any nationality.

Going to school was never easy for Jupel since he has to walk 20 minutes from their home to Casilon Elementary School. Children in the mountains wear slippers going to school and Jupel’s slippers would only last for a month because of the long and tiring walk every day to school.

Sometimes this boy would walk barefoot because his family can’t afford to buy him new slippers right away. Many parents in rural areas can’t afford to buy school shoes or even slippers for their children because of poverty. They would always prioritize food instead of buying material things for their children.

Although walking barefoot is kind of fun for some children, Jupel dreams of riding a jeepney or tricycle going to school. This dream became a hobby for Jupel. While on his way to school he found old rubber slippers, took it home, and made it into toy vehicles. His creativity led him to create toy jeepney, cars, and vans out of the old slippers left on the road. He even added some embellishments like LED lamps and flashlights to make his toy vehicle look appealing. His creations were featured in many social media networks and many people admired Jupel’s creativity and positivity.

We call it vintage or old school, and you can’t easily find one today.

Lilia Aspili said: “Sa amin, medyo may kabuhayan na kapag may ganiyang pinggan ka. Kung mayro’n man, itatago para sa bisita.”

A story shared by Manolito Pineda:

“Dati marami kaming ganiyan. Kaya lang, mas nauna pang naubos ‘yong ganyan namin kaysa sa ibang gamit. ‘Pag may handaan kasi sa amin, mga bisita namin nag-uuwi ng ulam kasama pati plato tapos wala nang saulian.”

Single Mother Lost Her Business During The ECQ, Now Earning 50K Daily

The Coronavirus outbreak made many people struggle. Many businesses were forced to stop operating because of the pandemic, and many employees also lost their jobs. Just like Miranda Nacario, a single mother lost her printing business because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). She was forced to close and stop her business because there were no orders coming in.

The unfortunate event made her life challenging. She had no money to buy milk and diapers for her baby, she only had sugar to feed her little baby. She had no help at all as she also broke up with her husband, which made life more difficult for her.

“Dumating yong time na yong baby ko walang diaper tapos nagkasakit sya, sabi ko wala akong pambili ng gamot hanggang dumating yong time na pakainin ko nalang sya ng asukal,” Miranda shared during her interview.

Imagine how difficult it is to see your baby sick and not having any food to eat.

“Kaya sabi ko, maghanap na talaga ako ng paraan kung paano ako makakuha ng pera, paano ako makaipon, makapgtinda-tinda,” Miranda added.

A mother will do everything for her family, for her children. Miranda did everything and worked really hard so she could earn money for her kids. With a capital of P2,500, Miranda decided to sell chickens and she also used the money to sell food online.

She was also very lucky to be invited to join the Store on Wheels Program of Quezon City. The participants of the said program sold food in areas under lockdown. At first, she was terrified to sell food outside her home because of the covid19 outbreak. But she thought of her kids and how it can change their life is she continue selling food amidst the pandemic.

It was no surprise that Miranda was able to grow her business in just 3 months. She was really resilient, persistent, and hard-working. She is now earning P50,000 a day, has 3 stores, gave people a job, and she even bought a new car.

Many were inspired when Miranda’s story was featured in GMA News 24-Oras and hope that she continues to inspire and help many people.

Pinoy And His Co-Worker Hailed As Hero After Saving A Korean Seafarer Who Fell Into The Sea.

Pinoy And His Co-Worker Hailed As Hero After Saving A Korean Seafarer Who Fell Into The Sea.

This Pinoy hailed a hero after saving a Korean seafarer who fell into the sea.

When we were kids, even until now, we love to watch superhero movies. As a kid, this kind of movie stirs up our passion for saving people and dream of having this kind of power or skill. But nowadays, we have this new image of a hero. Not having any superpower or amazing skill but only a good heart.

photo via Earl Dotimas | facebook

We cannot mention every Filipino who became a hero by sacrificing themselves for the country, those who made good deeds for their fellowmen, or even just a simple gesture of giving food to the poor. Our today’s heroes are not wearing capes nor superpowers but only a heart to help and to save.

photo via Earl Dotimas | facebook

Recently, another Pinoy hailed as a hero after jumping into the dangerous sea to save a Korean seafarer who accidentally fell into the sea. The Korean fell into the water while their ship is anchored in Indonesia. Not only that, he didn’t also accept the monetary rewards his colleagues give to him. WOW!

photo via Earl Dotimas | facebook

According to the ABS-CBN report, due to big waves and rough sea, other crews had a hard time saving the Korean seafarer. The Filipino hero identified as Vrose Santillan and other fellow workers didn’t hesitate to jump into the water to save the Korean.

Thankful for what the Pinoys did to him, the Korean seafarer tried to give money as a reward but they refuse to accept it. They only accepted the Pringles chips that the Korean seafarer offered as a snack.

photo via Earl Dotimas | facebook

Unlike what we see in movies, our modern heroes are walking with us. It could be your neighbor, a stranger, or it could be you. A little act of kindness surely goes a long way and will never be left unrewarded by the One above.

Kudos to this Pinoy hero and his co-workers! God bless you!

This Small Bahay Kubo In Davao Del Sur Cost A Million, Made A Big Fuzz Online.

This small house in Davao Del Sur cost a million. A small house in Davao del Sur made a big noise online just recently. This small nipa hut or Bahay Kubo as we call it, is distinct from the rest of the nipa hut you have seen. What makes it different? It cost 1.7 million PHP. Yes, you read it right!

I’m pretty sure that many are curious as to why this house costs an arm and a leg. An article published by Choose Philippines showed why this small house is pricy.

This Bahay Kubo is located in Brgy. New Sibonga, Kidlawan, Davao del Sur, and owned by a couple named Marcelo and Amelia Alqueza. Because of its extravagant price tag, this Bahay Kubo is now a tourist destination. Many people come and visit to take pictures.

Most parts of the house are made of bamboo that includes the chairs, bed, and the cabinets inside the house. The roof is made of Cogon grass and the door is made in Rattan, a vine-like palm native to the tropical regions of Asia and Africa.

The house was solo built by a member of the T’boli tribe from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, the reasons why this Bahay Kubo costs a million. They also said that this house can last up to 50 years.

The native house design is ideal for people who would like to have a place with natural ventilation, a perfect tropical set-up.

If you think that’s all, then wait until you see the basement part of the house. They hung “Duyans” or hammock made of Rattan, perfect for short naps.

If you want a relaxing and eco- friendly set up, then this house is perfect for you. Some people would like to have native houses in the countryside as sort of a rest house or vacation residence, far from traffic, city noise and the crowded streets.

Aristotle once said, “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous”. Indeed nature is full of wonders and marvelous sights. Just like what happened to a couple while fishing, they discovered a unique creation of nature.

While on a fishing escapade, a couple from Poole, Dorset discovered something in the waters that amazed them. Poole is a coastal town in Dorset, southern England. And just like the other people in this town, Annie and Ian Gilbert loves fishing. The couple went fishing one fine sunny day and instead of fish, they caught something strange.

While enjoying the warm breeze and the sun, the couple found a basketball in the sea. They were enjoying their fishing activity while overseeing the beauty of the Isle of Wight when they stumbled upon an old basketball submerged in the water. At first glance, it was just an ordinary ball but the couple were amazed to see what’s beneath the old floating object. At first, they were hesitant to go near it, thinking it was human remains.

Then they took the ball from the water and saw large piled oysters sticking at the bottom part of the ball forming a beard-like shape. It was big and a bit heavy. Oysters have different species and they live in saltwater or brackish habitats. The ball might have been in the water for so long, the reason why oysters grew on it.

It was something new for the couple so they took a picture of it and posted it online. They returned it to the water after taking a picture. Many people were also amazed by their discovery.

During the interview, Annie said:

“When we first saw it just for a horrible moment we thought it was a human head but as we got alongside we saw it was a ball. As we came alongside I got the landing net and scooped it up and that’s when we saw all the goose barnacles on it.”

Inspiring Story of a Nurse Who Became a Successful Educator Earned Admiration Online.

“May this journey paint a smile and relieve the negativity of the world as it endures the pain of this global health crisis. For teachers who struggle between work and continuing professional education, this is for you, “ a message written by Danhill C. Donoga.

Danhill has inspired many people when his story was featured in The Summit Express. He first started his career as a registered nurse and worked for DOH for four years.

His years of being a nurse came to an end when he decided to look for a more permanent job. He took some courses in Education and took the board exams for teachers. He passed the examinations, became a licensed professional teacher.

He landed a teaching job in Basilio B. Chan Memorial Agricultural and Industrial School in Lavezares, Northern Samar. The school has no designated nurse and with over 2,000 students the school decided to assign him as the school nurse and take over the school clinic.

He felt like he needed to do more so he took a Master’s degree and even continued his Doctorate degree at the University of Eastern Philippines. After 6 years of hard work as a teacher and 6years of non-stop school works, he finished his Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Educational Management in June 2019. It was never easy for he has to juggle two roles at the same time, being a teacher and a student. He finished everything with flying colors and even received two major distinctions.

He was awarded “Outstanding Junior High School Teacher and Outstanding Teacher” in research management in the whole province of Northern Samar by his school. It feels so great when your workplace recognizes your efforts and hard work.

Aside from being a dynamic educator, he is also a person with a big heart for helping the community. In fact, he spent his birthday budget to help the victims of Typhoon Tisoy last December 2019 and Typhoon Ambo in May 2020.

“While receiving these high-esteemed recognitions, I realized that despite what happened in 2019 where the province was hardly hit by typhoons and earthquake, still, we withstood the test of time. Nalampasan ko kasama ang Dyos at ang aking malaking pangarap para sa sarili, pamilya, at sa lipunan,” Donoga quoted.

If you have a child what will you name him? Choosing a perfect name for your baby is very important for they will carry that name forever. Many parents tend to give unique names to their kids, some names are really long and one of a kind. Just like the names given to twins who made a big fuzz online.

The twins’ names came from two of the most popular food chains in the country, Jollibee and Mcdonald Pangindian. The story was shared by Mark Lester Andrei Cruzet, a close family friend of the Pangindians. Evelyn, the twins’ mother was Mark Lester’s school paper adviser. He spent most of his childhood with the family that’s why he knows that the twins’ names were given by their father.

The unique names were given to them because their father wants people to remember their names right away. Jollibee and Mcdonald are good kids and to Mark Lester they are like his siblings. He is really close and thankful to the Pangidian family because they have been supporting him financially and emotionally when he was also having issues with his family.

Now that the twins graduated from high school, they are now ready to face college life and meet new people who will for sure smile when they find out their names.

They say “dogs are man’s best friend”. Dogs make the best companion, protector, helper, and lifesaver. There is a special and unique bond between dogs and their masters. They have feelings too. They wag their tails if they are happy and growl if they are threatened. That’s why they also deserve a place they can call home and humans they can call a family.

Furr Station, a Facebook page showed pictures of a homeless man in the streets with his cute little dog. Despite having no permanent shelter and food to eat, this old man still took good care of the dog. The homeless man enjoyed playing with the dog and uses empty plastic bottles as its toy. The pictures that went viral online inspired a lot of netizens.

The Facebook page shared many pictures of the two with a caption:

“Poor by money but rich of heart. God bless you Tatay”.

It earned many praises and good feedback from people online after the pictures were posted. Having a pet, may it be a dog, a cat, or a reptile, requires effort and a big responsibility. Despite the struggle of finding a place where they can stay and rest for the night, and the difficulty of finding food to eat, this man still took the responsibility of taking care of his cute furbaby. A cute picture of the old man dragging his trolley bag with the dog on top of it also circulated online.

Many netizens wished to help the old man and his pet dog and some even tagged Ms. Heart Evangelista on Facebook. Heart is known as a pet lover and an animal rights advocate. She earned many praises recently when she gave a man living in the street with his pet dogs a house.

“A dog doesn’t care if you are rich or poor. A dog will love you all his life,” a netizen commented on one of the viral pictures of the old man and his cute dog on Facebook.

That simply shows that whatever your social status in life, your dog will never leave your side. A true loyal friend.
