Willie Revillame is known to have a penchant for beautiful houses. He wants it with a touch of elegance and style. It can’t just be a simple house. The design must be very intricate. His house in Tagaytay is more than just that. It’s a house that is not just beautiful but there’s serenity and once you’re inside, you might feel like you won’t want to leave anymore. According to Willie himself, it’s a house you would want to spend your retirement. It was built within 3 lots that the popular host had purchased many years ago and inspired from the Bulgari Hotel and Resort in Bali, Indonesia. It’s a 5-hectare property and he plans on building a hotel and private villas to maximize his property.

The house has a very peaceful ambiance especially that it is more like a glasshouse. There are a lot of outdoor areas and the guests will definitely enjoy the stunning infinity pool overlooking the wonderful view of Taal Lake.

Façade and Outdoor Area

The view from the property is really mesmerizing. The structure stands tall and proud with its glass doors and windows. It has a verdant outdoor area which complements the look of the house.

It has an open-air dining area with two dining sets that can accommodate more than twenty people. There are an artificial waterfall and a hedge of boulders. If viewed from this area, details of the house will be more esteemed.

Another part of the outdoor area is the flight of steps which lead to the main house. This area is furnished with LED-illuminated tables, and chairs, There’s a bar area too.

Living and Dining Area

The living area is more like a hotel suite. It has an entertainment system and a B&B Italia gray sofa with lush pillows and appealing armchairs. The Superarchimoon floor lamp adds height to the house.

The dining area has spectacular pieces that match the look of the house. There is a console table besides the dining set and a high-end sound system. There are some books and wooden slats that separate the area from the steps that lead to the bedrooms upstairs.

The pieces of furnitures are from Molteni & C. The chairs’ dark finish add a tropical appeal to the house.

Kitchen and Mess Kitchen

The kitchen connects the veranda to the dining area. It is well-stocked and there are snacks and treats on the countertop. The area is very neat, organized, and spacious. It is well ventilated and boasts of first-class appliances.

There’s a sliding glass door from the kitchen going to the mess kitchen. This is where food preparation and cooking is done. It is mostly made of stainless steel appliances and a double sink. There’s a stainless steel island in the middle too.

There’s an outdoor dining area that is furnished with Dedon’s Seashell seating pieces which ere designed by Jean Marie Massaud. These chairs have backrests which make it very comfortable to sit in.

Powder Rooms

There are 2 powder rooms; one for female and one for male guests. These are located on the first floor and both rooms are organized, spotlessly clean, and equipped with excellent fixtures.

Entertainment Room

This is another inviting feature of the house. It has very comfortable sofas and very colorful floor pillows, high-end speakers, and a gigantic TV. There’s a videoke machine too.

Gym & Sauna

There’s a gym where guests can take time to exercise. It is well-equipped with pieces of exercise equipments and the view from this spot will keep you feeling relaxed.

There’s a sauna which can make guests retreat to a soothing escape. It can accommodate about ten people.

Bedrooms

There are 4 bedrooms in the house; a family room, 2 guest rooms, and the master’s bedroom which is located on the house’s roof deck.

The 2 guest rooms have direct access to the gym and swimming pool. It’s very simple and clean but would definitely give guests a homey feel.

The family room is located on the roof deck too and only the closest friends of Willie can have access on it. The room has its own bathroom which has quality fixtures and enclosed shower area. This area has a minimalist and relaxing feel.

The Master’s bedroom is simply amazing; complete with a view of the stunning outdoors. It boasts of Kenneth and Mock sliding panels and glass walls which allow natural light into the room, giving it a cozier ambiance. It has a loveseat, taupe curtains, and dark padded wall.

Master Bathroom

It has natural light and can be accessed through the walk-in closet of the TV host. It has a his-and-hers sink and a clear glass shower enclosure. The area has a floor to ceiling glass window where the natural light comes from.

Veranda

This spot has a breathtaking view of Taal Lake and complemented by the seating pieces which will make you feel like you can stay there forever.

Infinity Pool

It’s just so awesome; the infinity pool is one of the must-see in this house. It turns into a magical area at night once the lights have been turned on as the city underneath the area slowly comes to life.

Night View

The house is absolutely enchanting once the lights are turned on at night. According to the TV Host, LED lights are used all over the place. It saves on energy consumption. {via}

Unlike most celebrities who have decided to invest and build their haven in the south, actor Aljur Abrenica bought a property in Quezon City. He chose the location because it is near ABS-CBN and GMA. It’s a stand-out because of its industrial-inspired theme, starting from the red gate that is so unique. Most homeowners prefer light or pastel colors but Aljur is different because his 3-story townhouse is filled with bold colors. You can see a lot of red colors inside the house. The bachelor’s pad feel in his townhouse was designed by director Richard Somes who is a friend of the actor.

Garage

This space is enough to accommodate Aljur’s motorcycles and cars. There’s a mural on one wall. This is the biggest mural in the house which was done by Direk Richard.

Living Area

This area is filled with deep colors, woods, bricks, and has exposed piping. It has wooden pieces of furniture and a bookshelf that contains a lot of books because both Aljur and Kylie love to read. The sofa has a wooden base filled with cushions. On another sofa, there are throw pillows that spell out Kylie.

This house is filled with wood furnishings just like the entertainment center in the living area though this has a more natural finish. It holds the TV, gadgets, and entertainment essentials. This area has three of Direk Richard’s paintings.

Dining Area

Just like all the other parts of the house, the dining area is also filled with wood types of furniture. It is surrounded by bricks which give character to the area even though there are no other décors. It has a bar cabinet and a dining table that can fit 14 people.

There are overhead storage and cabinets which can be used to store supplies and other essentials. The area has a dark color tone but the lighting pieces can keep it cozy.

Kitchen

This used to be an open-air backyard which was turned into a kitchen. It also has an industrial theme as in the other areas. Bricks cover the wall and the kitchen also has stainless counter-tops with a wooden island in the middle. The industrial feel in the kitchen is finished with wooden beams in the exposed ceiling.

Sanctuary

This part of the house is Aljur’s favorite spot. There’s a spiral staircase in the kitchen that leads to this spot. This spot serves as a multi-purpose where one can study, read, get fit, or simply hang out. It also has brick walls and natural light stream from the windows and ceiling.

On one side of the mall is an unfinished mural which was done by Aljur’s wife, Kylie. According to Aljur, he told his wife that he wants her to have a touch in the house and since Kylie loves to draw, the mural was created. For this area, Kylie painted nude drawings of women.

Hallway

This part of the house is like a gallery where the Beatles and John Lennon painting is hanged on one wall while a cross-stitch featuring the Abrenica siblings done by his mom is showcased on another side of the wall.

Bedroom

This used to be the bedroom of Aljur and furnished with a raised bed. But since the birth of his son, Alas, this has become unoccupied. He plans to ke this into a room for the baby.

Terrace

The terrace is accessed through the actor’s previous bedroom. It has a rustic wooden table and chairs. This is a great spot to enjoy a hefty breakfast or just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets that can be seen in this area. It would also be a perfect spot to chill on a cold night.

But he proved to everyone behind that look is a man who has a heart for the needy.

According to the Facebook post, a very hungry child was seen roaming around a convenience store asking for alms. Instead of sparing the child some coins or food, the security guard drove him away. He told the child that beggars are not allowed there. The man was passing by the area at that time and saw what happened.

After telling the guard that he shouldn’t be dealing with the boy that way, he brought him to a nearby food court and ordered some food. He accompanied the boy until he finished his food. The man seemed to have just gone out for an errand because as seen on the post, he was just wearing sando and shorts. After the boy has eaten, the man gave him a small amount of money which he can use to buy medicine.

The act of the man earned the admiration of the netizens. After all, it’s not very often that you will see anyone doing this kind of deed. Considering his looks, his gesture caught everyone by surprise.

Parents usually reward their kids whenever they do well in school and this is exactly what the proud father of James Russell Maullon did. The senior high school student from Pasay City South High School got Php9,500 from his father, Efren Maullon for getting an average of 95% during the first grading period. The teenage boy must have been very happy with this reward.

The proud father posted on Facebook about his son’s achievement and the reward he gave him. He posted a picture of the money and the list of students where his son was in no. 1. His caption says that since the average was 95%, he will give him Php9,500. He even jokingly said to his son on the post saying that he shouldn’t surpass his average for the next grading because he might get poor.

The post went viral on social media. Many netizens admired them and thought that they should also do this to their children to serve as an inspiration to do better. Many kids even tagged their parents saying that they should also get a reward for their grades like Php7,500 or Php8,000 as equivalent to their average too. One month after giving birth to her new baby, Lilo, Andi Eigenmann, daughter Ellie, and partner Philmar went back to their home in Siargao. This marks one-month-old Lilo’s first time on the island. On her June 22 interview, Andi said that the features of the house were designed with the kids in mind. Andi had been living in Siargao together with Ellie and partner Philmar, who’s based here. Philmar is a champion surfer and Siargao is a perfect place for him. The guy has two other kids before meeting Andi. Before moving to Siargao, Andi had been living in Baler, Aurora since 2017.

Andi Eigenmann is the only child of Jaclyn Jose with the late actor, Mark Gil. She followed in her parent’s footsteps and was active in both television and movies before she left Manila in 2017. This twenty-three-year-old teacher, Ian Francis Manga, has always been mistaken as a Grade one pupil or even Kindergarten. People always get surprised when they learn that he is already a licensed teacher. He passed the LET last March 2019. Dr. Carl Balita, owner of the review center that Ian enrolled was amazed the first time he saw the boy. He thought that he just tagged along with his mother. He was astonished when he learned that Ian was already a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Education and enrolled in his review center.

Based on the FB post of Dr. Balita, Ian Francis was a sickly child thus he wasn’t able to grow up properly. The doctor didn’t mention his medical condition but said that this was the reason that he didn’t grow up like kids of his age. Even though he didn’t reach a normal height, his brain was able to develop normally. He wanted to follow in his mother’s footsteps and he loves teaching so he graduated with a degree in Education.

Having the features of a little boy gave him a hard time because people never took him seriously. They don’t believe his age even when he reached adulthood and other people would mock him for being so little. Everyone thought of him as just a little boy. But this young man can’t be discouraged despite all the criticisms that he got.

He ignored the snide remarks and took everything as a challenge instead. He followed his dreams and never allowed anyone to stop him from achieving his dreams. OFW in Saudi Arabia caught Manufacturing and Selling Liquor

Yanbu City, KSA – Authorities have arrested an OFW for manufacturing selling liquors. Liquors are banned in the Middle East so it’s being sold illegally. They just use common tools from the kitchen and purchase materials that are available anywhere.

The identity of the OFW is unknown yet while there’s an ongoing investigation. Reports said that the Criminal Investigation and Research Division in Yanbu received a tip that a Filipino working as a driver who has been manufacturing and selling alcoholic beverages.

Acting on the tip, authorities conducted a house visitation and caught the OFW on the act of manufacturing liquor. They found a sweat-making machine, several bottles, and a huge amount of money totaling to more than ten thousand riyals or Php139,752. The authorities have also recovered liquors in bottles that are ready to be sold.

Filipinos are known to love having celebrations and liquors are always present. Filipinos working abroad are more prone to homesickness due to their culture centered on family relationships. It’s no wonder that aside from being inclined to like festivities where drinking is involved, they also like to drown themselves in liquor to somehow alleviate the loneliness of being away from home. It’s not easy being an OFW and to be far from their families.

It’s not a reason, though, to commit an illegal act because there are consequences. But if you’re an OFW in the Middle East, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, avoid intoxicating yourself with liquor and much more, manufacture and sell them. It’s not clear what kind of punishment this OFW will suffer for the consequence of his crime. Filipinos are advised to follow the laws of the country where you’re working. Respect their rules and regulations to avoid trouble. Let’s just hope and pray for the best for this OFW.

Nevada in Needs for Filipino Teachers with $40,900 Salary for Year

Filipino teachers are known all over the world very dedicated to their work, intelligent, and compassionate. This is why many countries abroad have been hiring teachers from the Philippines for various jobs. This is why the CCSD (Clark County School District) in the southern state of Nevada wants to hire Pinoy Sped (Special Education) teachers to fill up their vacancies.

The program was launched in 2017 and since then, Nevada has hired the services of dozens of teachers. Just recently, fifty-seven Pinoy SPed teachers were hired during the 3^rd batch of the program. It’s still not enough though so they are planning to hire more teachers from the Philippines.

Successful applicants will go through a refresher course and an intensive training program. This is in preparation for classroom management and an individualized lesson development for the students who have special needs. This job has a starting salary of USD40,900 or about Php2.1M per year. The lucky applicants will be given a J1 visa in Las Vegas for three years. They will also have the chance to extend their teaching contract for two years or even more.

The CCSD has around 320K students and there’s a shortage of teachers which the state has been having a hard time to fill out. Their agency hopes that there will be more teachers from the Philippines that will be willing to travel to the U.S. and teach the students. They are also hoping to hire highly motivated employees that will be dedicated to providing the students with the best education possible.

Many may get excited with this news but some may be torn. It is such a great fulfillment to be able to work abroad and earn more than enough to provide for one’s family but it could also mean a lot of sacrifice and loneliness because they will be living oceans apart from their family. But then again, Php2.1M salary per year is hard to let go.

No homework Policy bills Ilalatag sa Kongreso – Multang P50,000 sa Lalabag

Kamakailan lamang ay napag-uusapan ang patungkol sa pagkakaroon ng oras sa pamilya at pag-aaral. Kaya naman upang mag-karoon ng panahon sa pamilya isinusulong ang dalawang batas na “No Homework Policy”

Sa panukalang batas ni Sorsogon Representative at Deputy House Speaker na si Evelina Escudero sa kanyang inihain na House Bill No. 3611 nakapaloob dito na dapat magpatupad ang Department of Education “no homework policy” sa kadahilang nalilimitahan ang oras ng bata sa kanyang pamilya. Anya ang nasabing batas ay nagsasabing wala na dapat takdang-aralin ang estudyante mula kindergarden hanggang sa K to 12 level.

Dagdag pa dito ang mga libro ay dapat iwanan na lamang sa paaralan upang hindi mabigatan ang mga esudyante lalo na ang mga nasa murang edad pa. Nakapalood din sa batas ang pagkakaroon ng sariling lagayan ng mga estudyante kung saan maari nilang iwanan ang kaniling mga aklat.

Sa kabilang banda naman ng House Bill No. 3883 na inihain ni Quezon City Representative Alfred Vargas ay halos kalalintulad ng naunang nabanggit na panukala ngunit may isang layunin, Ayon sa kongresista dapat ay walang alituntunin ang isang estudyante tuwing katapusan ng linggo lamang. Saad pa ng kongresista na may negatibong epekto ang mga alintuntunin base sa pag-aaral sa South Africa noong nakaraang taon.

Sa mga mapapatunayang lumalabag sa nasabing batas na “no homework policy”, ay bibigyan ng kaukulang parusang pagkakakul0ng ng dalawang taon at multang P50,000.

What is OWWA Rebate and How to Avail this Rebate

Ang OWWA Rebate Program ay alinsunod sa nakasaad na OWWA Act o ang batas na Republic Act 10801. Sa nasabing batas ang OWWA member na higit sampung taon o mas higit pa ngunit walang nakukuha sa alinmang programa o benipisyo sa ahensya ay maaaring mag-karoon ng rebate.

”In recognition of the contribution of long term members to the OWWA Fund, the OWWA shall develop and implement a program for the grant of rebates or some form of financial assistance to OFW’s who have been members of the OWWA for the last ten(10)years and who,along with their families,have not availed of any service or benefit from the OWWA. The provision and the amount of rebates shall be based on actuarial study commissioned by the OWWA for this
purpose”

Ano ang basehan para sa halaga ng OWWA Rebate?
Base sa actuarial study,mayroon 1 BILLION pesos na pondo para sa mga 556,000 na benepisyario ng rebate na umabot sa December 2017 na cut-off at 2 Billion Pesos na pondo naman para sa mga susunod na batch na mabibigyan ng rebate.

Sino ang maaaring makakuha ng nasabing rebate?

Ang rebate ay para sa mga OFW na;

Naging 10 taong miyembro ng ahensya o higit pa
Nakapagbayad ng limang beses (5) mahigit pa sa OWWA Membership Contribution
Walang nakuha o natanggap kahit mula sa nasabing programa ng ahensya

Magkano ang maaaring matanggap sa OWWA Rebate?
Sa mga kwalipikadong OFW ay maaaring makatanggap ng P941.25 hanggang P13,177.50 base sa kanyang mga kontribusyon. Heto ang kumpleyong contribution rebate.

Senators File Bills to Scrap Travel Tax

Frequent travelers will love this news. Three Senators want to remove the travel tax, calling it an unnecessary burden. Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Manny Pacquiao, and Koko Pimentel want to unburden the Filipino travelers and that there’s no need for travel taxes because there are already many other kinds of taxes being paid. Thus, they seek to remove travel tax from all Filipino travelers departing from international airports and seaports in the Philippines.

Senate Bill No. 91 was filed by Senator Koko Pimentel to unload travelers the burden of having to pay for travel tax. He cited that the national government is already taking an enormous portion from the salaries. Senator Kiko Pangilinan agreed with him. Senator Manny Pacquiao shares their opinion so he had also filed Senate Bill No. 384 regarding the same matter.

The Senator also said that in 2002, the country had already signed an agreement with the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations), phasing out travel taxes and levies on all Nationals who will travel to another country which is a member of the ASEAN. But despite this agreement, the country still collects travel taxes. Senator Pacquiao further stated that the travel tax allocation for the tourism-related educational programs of the NCCA (National Commission for Culture and the Arts) and CHED (Commission on Higher Education) has no apparent connection.

Senator Pacquiao also said that the tax only imposes a pointless burden thus reducing the traveler’s right to mobility. In the Tourism Act of 2009, fifty percent of collections from travel tax are allocated TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority. Meanwhile, forty percent of the collection will go to the CHED and ten percent to the NCCA. To date, each traveler pay around Php300-2,700 every time they travel. If the said Senate Bills will be approved, this will be a big relief for the travelers. They can instead use the money for other expenses.
