Parents have different reasons for giving the names of their children. Some based the name on their favorite celebrities, or patron saint. There are some parents too that based the name of the children based on the meaning of the name in their belief that this will bring good fortune for them. Take the case of this retired soldier named Honesto. Retired Philippine Army Lieutenant Honesto Tosoc really lived up to the name his parents gave him. He had always tried to live honestly.
Recently, the honest retired soldier hit went viral for his unbelievable honesty in this world full of dishonest people. Many netizens admired Honesto’s honesty after returning a bag which contains Php107k. He found the bag containing the money along Barangay Sibucao, Zamboanga del Sur. He immediately brought the bag to the nearest police station. The bag’s owner was found easily because of the ID inside the bag.
The Dumalinao, Zamboanga PNP searched and got in touch with the bag’s owner at once. The owner was Diosdado Gaco Perater, a 76-year-old man from Barangay Maruing, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur. After being notified about the bag, Perater immediately went to the police station with his wife to get the bag.
Tosoc was also at the station when Perater came to get his bag. He wanted to personally hand over the bag to the rightful owner. The old man was very happy and thankful for the return of the bag which contains his money and other important documents. Tosoc said that he didn’t think twice about returning the bag so he brought it to the police station.
Even if he’s a retired soldier already, he still wants to serve his countrymen by being an honest and disciplined citizen. The netizens admired his honesty and commented that he’s an inspiration to many for the good deed he has done.
