The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the world into chaos, panic, health crisis, and economic downfall. A significant population has lost jobs and businesses since the pandemic broke out.
The daily habit, routines, and activities were greatly affected by the global crisis. And one primary sector affected by this pandemic is the transportation industry due to the travel restrictions, quarantine and lockdown to avoid the spread of the virus.
All sorts of public vehicles and vessels were not allowed to operate unless permitted by the government as long as they follow protocol and safety measures.
The aviation industry is primarily affected since no domestic, and especially no International flights were allowed. Thus, aviation workers became jobless. A flight attendant named Lorie Mae Parungao, who was working as a flight attendant at Pan Pacific Airlines, is one of them.
Parungao, instead of just staying at home and wait for the job to resume, decided to sell fishball near her place.
On her Facebook post, she said that selling fishballs and other street food is not new to her since even before she became an FA, she does them.
She also added that even if she might not get as much income as what she can when working as an FA, selling fishball can help them with their daily needs especially buying food every day during this pandemic.
Leaving advice to all who are struggling to earn a living these trying times, she said, “Always be grateful for all that has happened in our lives. It will be our fuel for our dreams. Never forget where we came from; it will always lead and teach us to aim and soar high.
Many netizens were inspired by her act and admired Parungao’s fighting spirit and motivation as a family’s breadwinner. It’s what everyone needs these days.
