Filipinos love basketball. They love watching and playing the game. Filipino men play the game even if some of them are not really good players. This is why there are basketball games in school, at work and barangay. A woman recently went viral on the net after making a placard for her boyfriend who was a part of a basketball team though the man wasn’t even called to play on the court. He was just there with the team but just kept on sitting. That’s what referred to as “bangko”.
Knowing the situation of her boyfriend, she made a placard to cheer her boyfriend and to show support. The placard read as “Go baby#09! Sit properly, Rarw!”. Eya Borja even posted this on her Facebook account and shared that she just wanted to cheer up her boyfriend, Wacky Garcia because he was not able to play for the game. She also said that a man should get a girlfriend who will cheer him up even if he’s “bangko”. The post became trending on the net and had so far gotten more than 20,000 reactions, 31,000 shares, and 3,500 comments. Garcia shared the post on his own wall using four facepalm emoji as a caption.
Tne netizens were entertained with the post and they have been tagging their boyfriends who like Garcia don’t even sweat during basketball games because they are also “bangko”. Some of them advised players who are just made to sit to bring chessboard so that they can do something while the game is going on. Others said that there will come a time that their talent in basketball will be noticed by their coach and teammates someday and will be asked to play together with the team on future basketball games. {source}
