What would we do without teachers? Not only do they help shape the future of the next generations, but they also show kindness when the timing calls for it. Teacher Emil Bal-iyang is one-of-a-kind!
He’s a Gradeschool teacher in Ilocos Sur and became viral when he gave the family of his students, fishes from his pond. After the announcement of the Quarantine period, a lot of disadvantaged Filipino families worried about their lives. Many businesses temporarily closed. These affected many.
Families that rely on daily earnings are most affected by the quarantine. The government is giving out relief goods. But sadly, that’s not enough when there are more mouths to feed.
Teacher Emil of Lamag Elementary School in Lamag, Quirino, Ilocos Sur gave his fishes from the goodness of his heart! He’s our kind of hero. Josephine Tali shared the story on Facebook.
The teacher and his students were supposed to go on a picnic. However, they had to postpone because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a disappointment. Yet, Teacher Emil turned this around.
His kind act would reach many parts of the internet. It’s people like him that make a difficult situation have a silver lining. Thanks to his efforts!
The students may not go on a picnic for now, but they have Teacher Emil delivering fishes to them. That’s very welcoming at this time when many families are getting hungry. There’s always hope. We just need to look at the bright side of it.
For one, there’s less pollution now. Everyone can take this cue to become better at preserving Mother Earth once the pandemic is over. It’s also a lesson for everyone to try our best to achieve more, and save up.
After the pandemic, let’s not forget generous people like Teacher Emil. Let this pandemic be the start of compassion and love between people.
