Education is very important. Parents would do everything just to provide a good education for their children. The schools, on the other hand, would hire competent and reliable teachers to make sure that the students become competent, knowledgeable, and well educated.
The educational system of the country is not as advanced as other countries like China and the USA for example. The Covid19 pandemic gave the Department of Education in our country a big challenge. Now that children are prohibited to be in crowded places to ensure health and safety settings, DepEd created distance and online learning. This will allow students to just stay at home while attending their classes. This will for sure give a lot of schools and teachers a big challenge, as we are a third world country where internet service is unstable.
Recently, a teacher from Isabel, Leyte posted a funny video on Youtube. Bariray is a Vlogger and a teacher as well posted a funny skit that has over 2 million views in just a day. That’s quite an achievement! The video showed the teacher having an online class and losing his internet connection.
This is a big problem for a teacher having an online class with a very poor internet signal. Bariray can just skip the day and continue the class the next morning but he chose to continue because he knows the students are waiting and they might just spend the entire day playing online games. So instead of just sitting he went outside the house and searched for a spot where he can get a strong internet signal.
Then he found a perfect spot to continue his online class. Guess where? Up in a branch of a tree! Quite a scary place to spend your class hours.
Funny it may seem, but climbing up a tree just to finish the discussion with your students is unsafe. Imagine falling down from a branch of a tree while talking to your students, its embarrassing and funny. I wouldn’t want to be in that situation. The video showed a very funny ending that made it viral online. As he climbed down after his class, he accidentally tore his pants.
This may be a funny video but it showed the possible effects on online learning. Hopefully, we can all go back to normal, soon.
