Celebrities Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna’s contemporary home in Laguna was constructed at the time they were also planning and preparing for their wedding. Pauleen was given total control over the house’s construction and she took that seriously. Pauleen made sure that every part of the house was her personal choice that she would even go to warehouse stores to personally pick materials. It wasn’t easy but she’s more than happy with how their dream home turned out. She added that being a home builder isn’t an easy job.

Architects and professional designers helped her in slowly building their house and after one year and a half, it was finally done. The couple didn’t rush the construction because they’re aware that it might not come up as planned. You will notice while looking at the pictures that the house doesn’t have a particular design or style but rather, it is a combination of tropical, modern, and Asian highlights. It has a notable art collection and one thing you’ll notice is the natural light that streams from the window. Vic may have given his wife the full control in the construction of the house but he was firm on one thing; there should be paintings and plants in each area. He also wants it to be clean and cozy.

Located in a posh village in Laguna, the house is a standout and passersby will most likely take a look upon seeing it. It has no gate and the tall plants outside give more highlight to the structure.

Foyer

Once you enter the house, you will be in awe with the high ceiling; making it look bigger and airy. Natural lights stream in from the huge windows. It appears very clean and clutter-free as what Vic had wanted. He said that in his former house in Alabang, it’s a bit disorganized and there were a lot of things because he’s a hoarder.

The wall in the foyer is filled with paintings from Arturo Luz. It’s a tribute for the National Artist for Visual Arts. Bossing Vic owns thirty paintings made by the artist and some of them are considered rare pieces.

Living Area

Their architects told them that they shouldn’t go for a solid modern theme because it will make the house look stiff. They instead settled for a contemporary theme with a combination of other influences making them achieve a homey feel.

The living room is meant for watching TV and relaxing. There’s a huge chocolate leather couch. It can pass as a bed and one can even take a relaxing nap here.

The wall in the living area is enhanced with a painting by Atanacio Peferanda Austria. Pauleen doesn’t want a dark home so there’s a stainless steel floor lamp by Super Archimoon in one corner; giving light to the living room aside from the natural light coming from the windows.  There’s a Geo coffee table by Vito Selma, a furniture designer.

The entertainment console holds the awards of the couple aside from the TV. Bought from Urban Italia, this console conceals the TV when the owners are not using it because it has a sliding door.

Dining Area

There are 3 sets of sliding glass doors in the dining area which makes it accessible from any part of the house. It has a minimal décor and a beautiful lighting piece bought from Keystone.

The dining table is made from Narra and customized by a local furniture manufacturer. It is made up of 3 small tables that were combined to create a big table. The classy dining chairs come from Crate & Barrel.

For the dining area, only the works of Paulina Sotto are displayed. Paulina, Vic’s daughter, is an upcoming artist. She happens to be the granddaughter of Arturo Luz.

Kitchen

The kitchen is very spacious and neat. It has lots of drawers, a cabinet, and a kitchen island. The sliding glass doors will lead you to the lanai and foyer. There’s a 6-seater dining table in the kitchen and the owners enjoy having their breakfast here while watching TV.

Top of the line appliances can be seen in the kitchen. Pauleen says she cooks when time allows it but they have a cook who prepares the meal whenever she’s not available. The mahogany finish of the drawers and cabinets complements the color palette of the kitchen.

Bathroom

There’s a big bathroom on the ground floor. It has a tufted bench and a painting by Paulina Sotto. Scented candles give a relaxing feel to the bathroom.

There’s another spacious bathroom on the 2nd floor. It has a wide counter and shower area. It looks like the ones you’ll see in hotel suites.

Staircase

The staircase serves as a divider on the second floor. The magnificent effect of the windows can be seen on the landing. The left side of the staircase is the master bedroom while on the right side are the 3 other rooms. Religious icons are placed near the sliding glass doors that lead to the house’s veranda.

Bedrooms
